 The Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) Limited is incorporated under the Companies Act of the Laws of Malawi. Its core business is to procure, transmit and distribute electric power in Malawi as well as manage System Market Operations and Single Buyer in Malawi. 1 Chief Engineer Operations 1 Position
    Grade : ES5

Purpose of the Job

 

To design, manage, and optimize business operations to ensure reliable, secure, and high-performing services.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Overseeing designing of the ISP’s network infrastructure, including core, distribution, and access layers.
  2. Performance Management
  3. Developing a long-term technology roadmap to keep the ISP competitive.
  4. Staying updated on industry trends and evaluating the adoption of new technologies like IoT, AI/ML, and edge computing.
  5. Budgeting for operations.

Purpose of the Job

 

To drive revenue growth, improve customer experiences, and foster strategic relationships by coordinating commercial objectives with technology improvements and customer needs.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

 

  1. Developing and implementing commercial strategies to meet revenue targets for both enterprise and residential clients.
  2. Determining new revenue streams, such as value-added services (cloud storage, cybersecurity, IoT solutions) or wholesale agreements.

Purpose of the Job

To ensure continuous and secure network operations by monitoring performance, responding to incidents, enforcing processes and proactively resolving issues.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Overseeing network performance using NOC tools to detect and resolve issues proactively.
  2. Ensuring 24/7 network availability and responding to alerts in real-time.

Purpose of the Job

To design, maintain, and optimize the power infrastructure for the data centers.

 

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Reporting on data centre performance and suggesting improvements.
  2. Creating and maintaining disaster recovery plans to ensure data centre resilience.
  3. Managing data centre infrastructure, such as servers, storage, networking, and cooling systems.
  4. Planning for scalability and redundancy to meet future growth while maintaining high availability.

Purpose of the Job

To facilitate the installation, maintenance, and repair of fibre optic cables for high-speed data transmission and communication infrastructure.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Installing fibre optic systems and ensuring their proper function and alignment.
  2. Testing and troubleshooting issues with the fibre network and implementing necessary repairs or adjustments.
  3. Conducting regular inspections and performing system upgrades as required to meet evolving technological standards.
  4. Coordinating with project managers and other engineering staff to streamline network operations.

 

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma in either Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or Electronics
  • 3 years’ relevant work experience
EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT 1  Position

Purpose of the Job

To provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative service to the Director assigned

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1.    Drafting, typing and managing correspondences.

2.    Managing sensitive and confidential reports for the Director’s office.

3.    Facilitating events and visits for the Director’s office.

4.    Developing and maintaining a filing system.

5.    Maintaining mail register and managing diary.

6.    Making travel arrangements for the Director

7.    Operating office equipment and reporting faults

8.    Maintaining steady office supplies and accessories

9.    Preparing reports as required from time to time by the office.

10.  Servicing meetings and taking minutes
