Purpose of the Job
To manage and facilitate procurement of goods, works and services and disposal of assets in line with the existing and applicable Public Procurement and disposal of assets legal framework, the Corporation’s policies and regulations whilst ensuring economy, efficiency, transparency, fairness, accountability, ethical standards and promotion of competition among others
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Developing and monitoring the implementation of procurement plans.
- Implementing, monitoring and proposing reviews of internal procurement and asset disposal policies, procedures, standards and regulations.
- Interpreting procurement and asset disposal policies and regulations.
- Preparing and reviewing requests for quotations and bid documents.
- Coordinating the closing, opening and evaluation of bid documents.
- Leading in the administration of procurement contracts and ensuring delivery of goods and services in accordance with the contract terms and end-user requirements.
- Preparing minutes and reports for the IPDC, Management and the PPDA.
- Liaising with requisitioning units to come up with correct product and service specifications.
- Preparing and reviewing procurement contract documents
- Providing general advice and assistance to staff and management on procurement and asset disposal

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised and reputable university in either Procurement, Logistics Management or Supply Chain Management, Economics, or equivalent;
- Relevant professional membership preferably with Malawi Institute of Procurement and Supply (MIPS)and Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS);
- 4 years’ relevant work experience in the field /industry
