This Division is responsible for distribution, supply and retail of electricity. Presently, ESCOM supplies electricity to about 325,000 customers categorized as domestic, general, commercial and industrial. This number of customers represents 10 percent of the national population's access rate to electricity.

The Distribution Division is also responsible for the operation and maintenance of the network.

The Division is also responsible for connecting new customers and expansion of the distribution network and power trading to neighbouring countries. Presently, it supplies electricity to some border towns of Milanje, Mandimba, Zobwe and Villa Ulongwe in Mozambique as well as Lundazi and Chama in Zambia.
