Man jailed for 2 years, accomplice battling for life after vandalizing ESCOM cables

Lilongwe Senior Resident Magistrate, Bracious Blessusall Chanda Kondowe, convicted and sentenced Austin Aufi to 13 years imprisonment with hard labour after finding him guilty of the three counts. Tributes pour in following the passing of DoD Mr Youngie Chewele

There is an outpouring of tributes following the passing of Mr. Youngie Chewele, the Director of Distribution (DoD) and Customer Services. He died at ABC Clinic in Lilongwe on the morning of Sunday, 22nd December 2024 after a long illness. Chief Justice calls for a holistic approach in fighting vandalism of ESCOM assets

Chief Justice Rizine Mzikamanda has urged the Judiciary to make the most of Electricity (Amendment) Act 2024 when handling vandalism cases of the Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) Limited infrastructure. Two men jailed for 30 months for possessing stolen ESCOM conductors

Two men have been sentenced to two-and-a-half-years imprisonment in Lilongwe following their conviction for possessing stolen electricity conductors at Kasiya in the district. The State Vice-President, Right Honourable, Dr. Michael Usi, paid a surprise visit to ESCOM Limited Head Office at Umoyo House in Blantyre on Friday, 26th July 2024 at around 10:00am to appreciate the Corporation’s operations in service delivery. Affordable Agriculture Electricity Tariff to Spur Economic Growth
